Mixed Culture Cyantype
Mixed Culture Cyantype
Mixed Culture Cyanotype is inspired by the Brushing Washing Pot from the Cuming Collection, drawing on the influence of culture and how it shapes everyday life. The cyanotype technique was ideal for this work, as its colours echo the pottery of the Ming Dynasty. This piece symbolizes the blending of cultures in today's world, creating an effect that's almost like a blur.

The design process for this work involved gathering a collection of photographs, featuring pottery from art collections and cultural settings around London, such as Chinatown. These images were then randomly collaged to represent the fusion of cultures, with the prominent Chinatown entrance serving as a focal point, creating the impression of entering a world where cultures blend seamlessly.
